Day 244 was all about kids and science.

I had an amazing time volunteering at a local S.T.E.A.M. event. I've been very fortunate to have the support of my cousin who has been feeding me so many adventures. Today was an absolute treat.

It started earlier than I like my experiences and it was also pouring rain. I arrived at the school with enough time to eat my breakfast and puddle jump into the office.

It's been a very long time since I've been a school volunteer but my cousin was there to greet me and set me up with my official visitor badge.

In the back of my mind I thought there might be some cool robots that I've never had a chance to play with. It turns out I actually got some time with K'nex. Don't laugh because until today I have never played with these before. If you're wondering how that's possible, it has a lot to do with the TONS of LEGO I have stored in my house.

Since I have ZERO K'nex experience I needed to do a fast google search to get the basics and construct something to display when the kids came in for their fun. I built a pyramid and a spinning top. They were great icebreakers and the rest of the day was a blast. Kids really are amazing and if you put toys in front of them they really do know how to play. It was educational for me and every school should take the time to expose students to science and technology.
