Day 152

Float

There were a few things that I absolutely knew I would do during this 365 day challenge.

It took me 152 days but I finally got to float.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about let me sum it up. I visited Float Life, a 60 minute experience of weightlessness in a bath of salted water.

What made this experience worth every dollar was a complete escape from time and space. If you have the ability to let go of the world around you it is bliss.

For this adventure you strip away everything. You enter this adorable pod with earplugs, a hand towel and a spray bottle of clean water; no clothing and no reason for it. I pulled the handle that closed the top of the pod creating silence and darkness. I don't have a fear of small spaces but once the lights went out all that you could feel was the warm water and the absence of gravity on your body. I drifted around inside the pod and my 60 minutes felt like hours. The sound of my heart beating was all I could hear. It created a drumbeat that added to the meditative experience.

It was the perfect creation of nothing.

If you can't stand silence or small spaces you might want to avoid the pod. If you've ever wondered about trying it, you absolutely should.

Day 152 was the escape I needed.
