I had an interesting experience today. The morning started out calm and the afternoon ended in a sports bar. Neither of these are new for me. My first time adventure happened sometime in between.

For my 117 experience I attended my very first gun show.

In general I'm not for or against guns. I've been around them my entire life. I spent my childhood watching my father and his friends shoot skeet in the back yard. I was reloading his shotgun shells way before I ever learned to drive.

I'll be honest and confess I don't know much about guns. I don't have a deep desire to shoot but that doesn't mean that I don't know how. When I made the decision to be an at home mom I also decided to put the guns away.

If you haven't been to a show like this, there's a shitload of weapons being sold. There are also grips and clips and ammo and so many collectibles that it's as much about history and it is about the second amendment right to bear arms. It's intimidating to walk through an event like this.

As experiences go this was outside my comfort zone and I won't be trading weapons any time soon. I would suggest you bring a gun-nut with you if you ever attend. They might help answer questions if you have as many as I did.

Day 117 was eye opening.
