Day 89 of 365

Barn I’ve been to quite a few weddings, celebrated in a variety of places but I’ve never been to a barn wedding in the back country of Montgomery, Texas. Today was an interesting first. I knew that we would be attending these nuptials but I had no idea the unique space we would be in. The ceremony itself was a typical non-church experience with gorgeous flowers and rows of benches filled with family and guests.

Essentially everything I was already expecting.

When we drove up to the property it felt like it was going to be just another outdoor wedding. It really wasn’t. At first sight the space was unique and the covered bridge leading us to the parking lot set an uncomplicated yet elegant tone.

The location where the ceremony was held felt special, like any vows could be made from any faith, any commitment could happen and it would be sacred. The walls were covered with rough cut repurposed wood. Vows were said and hands clapped in celebration. It all happened quickly, and after, we were able to explore the reception barn and the property surrounding it.

It is a magical place in the daylight but after the sun set it came alive. A misty fog set in and highlighted the miniature lights hanging in the trees and surrounding structures. That covered bridge was even more amazing with the night lights inside.

This was a beautiful place and I was happy to be in it.

The 89th day was certainly special.

Love & Light

I planted my #365rockdays rock.
