Day 87 of 365

Feet

I know quite a few people who hate feet. They’re glad to have them but are pretty grossed out by the idea of touching them let alone grooming them as a profession. Day 87 is all about feet, mine to be specific. With the help of some enthusiastic friends and one pretty talented pedicurist my feet enjoyed a fabulous spa morning.

YES, I'd say this was my experience. We went to a place called Utopia. The name is fitting. I've never had such a pampering for my twinkling toes. The pedicure area is hidden behind a sliding door creating a dark space of mystery. Everywhere you look the signs are posted for quiet. That was a little intimidating and made me feel like a child in church.

I received a strange pair of disposable flip-flops. They got me from the coat hooks to the chair in the secret mystery room. Remember this is my first time and I have no idea what to expect. The chairs are shiatsu massagers and as soon as I sit down the rollers flow across my back. I like this already. There's a blue pool of water at my feet and all I can think is windex. I know this is nuts but the entire time my feet are submerged I can't think of anything else. I'm sure it wasn't windex but I was too busy being quiet to ask. The rest of my experience included a bunch of clippers and metal tools and buffing pads. It was all I could do to keep silent. My feet are sensitive and once Maggie started to care for them I couldn't stop the giggles. Let me remind you again that this is all new. I had no idea that so much clipping and scraping was involved. It was interesting when the massage part came. Warm oil is poured across my shins and rubbed in to the skin. A hot towel is wrapped around each leg and I'm feeling what a defining moment is like. UTOPIA, it was perfect.

I'm a simple person. I don't need a lot of fancy clothes or makeup to feel good. Since I don't have another experience to compare it to I'd say this foot spa was top notch and I would like them every Friday forever!

Day 87 was worth every tickle.
