Day 44 of 365
Bombing a bath
NO, this was not some weird adventure in a hot tub. Today I made a little treat for my feet and other parts of me. I've had quite the first 44 days. I've eaten things I've always wanted to and tried a few adventures that I would not have made the time for. I think it's giving me a unique perspective that'll launch me in to an adventurous second half of my life.
The next couple of days are going to be filled with unknowns and tense experiences. I'm not feeding the anxiety caused by the unpredictability but I do respect the space we all need when it comes to processing it.
I'm surrounded by all kinds of human beings and some of them handle change well and others need extra love and hugs. I decided that today might be the day to make some bombs for the bath that are filled with fizz, calming essential oils and a little bit of love.
These little fizzy balls are made of a few very basic ingredients. You probably have them around the house. I used baking soda, epsom salts, corn starch and a little bit of coconut oil. I don't know the science but these little bombs react like the baking soda and vinegar volcanoes you made in the second grade. (you might have made some more recently if you are me and you like that kind of thing) I used some food color to tint. I suppose you could buy some dyes at a craft store but I used what I had.
I mixed up all the dry ingredients, and found all of the tiniest little cuts on my hands. Not kidding, all my wounds are clean now.
After the dry was blended I added coconut oil and my essential oils and mixed it all together. The kitchen of my house is so cold that I had to warm the oil to keep it from clumping. Winter is definitely coming. I added a 1/2 teaspoon of water and a little fizz happened until I stirred it all up. This mix hardens pretty quick so I mashed it all in to a mold and let it set for a minute. I'm storing them in little mason jars.

They turned out pretty amazing and I can't wait to share them. I might even use one myself just to give it an official thumbs up.
Day 44 was tons of fun and this would make a great activity for kids to do for a parent or grandparent as a holiday gift.
