Day 63 of 365

Tile

Today, for the first time in the history of me, I cut and set my own bullnose tile.

I've been looking forward to this for so very long. I know at 49 I should have had this experience by now but I've been super busy and needed an actual project to tile.

For the past few weeks we have been chasing a leak in our bathroom. Once we found that little sucker we had quite a mess to clean up. In doing all of this I had to rebuild my shower. The process of fixing the mistakes of others can be time consuming and frustrating. I really want my bathroom back.

As of this morning I have a working sink and toilet. I'll get my jet tub back in a few days. Now that my tile is set in place all it needs is grout.

That was my experience for the day. I got a pile of mud and used it to stick my tile to the wall. I'll admit that I've been hesitant to do this because I thought it would be very complicated. It really wasn't. I just blew the mystery out of tiling. This didn't require a lot of spacing or intricate measuring and I'm okay with the simplicity on this first time project. The best part of all of this was the tile saw. Making those cuts with that saw was COOL!

I'm totally serious people.

The bathtub's tile is done and the shower is 30% complete. The complicated cuts are coming but I'm woman and I'm ready to roar. NO MERCY! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's so bright.

Day 63 was magic and I'm so proud of myself for this one.

Love & Light
